There are a million myspace music pages with people that have dreams of stardom and becoming an icon - but barely have enough talent to open for a has-been boy band. Not too long ago, I discovered a group through a friend of a friend (it's a long list so I'll end it there) and with the mix of catchy songs there were several that made me pause to truly appreciate the lyrical talent that this group possesses. I'm talking of course about S.A.D., straight from "Murda ValCA" (check out their myspace page for an explanation: http://www.myspace.com/sk8allday911) A little bit of background on this group: A common reference found throughout their myspace pages as well as twitter pages is the acronym P/O/P. Not gonna lie: I was unsure about what this meant, myself, but thanks to explanation from Mr. McFly (One of the artists) P/O/P refers to the Latin term "Plato O Plomo" that was commonly used by dictators which meant in a nutshell "Accept this bribe or face assassination." This mantra suits the group as you'll learn with their devil-may-care lyrics and beats. Going through the list of songs on their playlist, there are of course the tracks you can chill to, the tracks that you can smoke to *cough cough*, and the tracks that make bitches go crazy in the club (my personal favorites are "Stiks Nd Stones" "My Names Oreo" and FLA[S]HY"). An underground feel with incredible talent and potential for greatness - S.A.D. is a group I'm keeping my eye on and you should too. For further listening, explore the following sites:
